Shoot Recap: ALICIA. in all her magic.
The first thing I noticed while working on my recap was that there we so many 8s in the date! Backstory: Alicia and I have been planning her shoot for about 2 months. I like to use Pinterest to create inspiration boards so we can bounce ideas around and chat about which direction feels right. Originally, we intended to shoot at the beginning of the Summer but before we knew it August was here and we set the date of 8/28/18.
Dude, the heatwave can't keep us down β it was 94Β° and we captured some fantastic moments that are so gorgeous...I'm so excited about.
Alicia wanted to capture this unique phase she is currently in (personal, family, life changes, growth, love, and more love) through photos so it was my honor to be a part of it. In fact, her request to work with me is exactly what I've been wanting to do with my photograph; shoot with a purpose of documenting the most genuine you wherever you are emotionally.
Alicia is not a model (yetπ¬) so I gave her some coaching along the way but I can tell she had been practicing way before our shoot. I scouted 3 different locations prior to remembering the beautiful wedding I had attended the Sayen House and Gardens and immediately knew it was THEE perfect spot! Today, as I was looking through photos I realized there we three 8s in our shoot date. Things like that always peek my interest so I went to the Googles and found explanations that fit the entire experience oh so well! 8: the number of a new beginning, harmony, balance, resurrection, regeneration, power, strength and it goes on! Really cool because it aligns with the key points Alicia shared with me about the purpose for her shoot. Talk about great timing on many levels!
More to photos to come, I've already culled through and rated my favorites so stay tuned for more on IG and my online portfolio...www.efikoko.com is coming!
These behind the scenes photos were taken thanks to my new assistant Imani White (pictured at the end of this post)! I took this of her the day we went to scout the gardens.
Remember the basis of who you are is unconditional love and anything less than that is counter-intuitive to who you are. Don't stand for less rather strive for the inifinite.
